PRESTON SEWELL (1921-2008)

Then I heard a voice from heaven say,
"Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on."
"Yes," says the Spirit, "they will rest from their labor,
for their deeds will follow them."
Revelation 14:13

Dear Resurrection Church Family,

Deborah and I are saddened and distressed about the news of Preston's passing on Friday June 13. Our Pastoral Assistant, Anna Spray, at my request, had been keeping us informed about his sudden downturn and progress. We had been in earnest prayer hoping for another outcome than this. It is doubly distressing being so far away as it is impossible for us to be there in time to share your shock and your grief.

Preston is and was a true friend and colleague in ministry. His blessing, with Edith's, of so many of the new things we were tried through the last few years was a constant source of encouragement. As we said at Edith's pasing, their mutual hospitality and warm enthusiatic greetings helped to unite us as we grew as a church family. It made the miracle of the story of the Rez possible.

This event has been heavy on our hearts over here. Tomorrow at his funeral June 16 at 11 am we will be with you in the spirit of Christ - united in His gospel and the Hope of the Resurrection.

We send you our prayers, blessing and love.

The Rev. Dr. Duke Vipperman and Deborah Vipperman

Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord.
Even so says the spirit for they rest from their labours,
for their deeds will follow them. Rev. 14:13
